Cooking Class: Pepparkakor Tree
Pepparkakor are thin Swedish gingersnaps composed of flour, cream (or vegan substitute), cardamom, and love. They were traditionally rolled out thin, cut into shapes, baked, and decorated to put on a tiered set of wooden rods called a pepparkkakor tree. While now often consisting of wooden or straw ornaments instead of cookies, they tell a story of heritage and values. In this class, you will roll and bake your own cookies that you can decorate and dry to use as ornaments on your own pepparkakor tree or live Christmas tree. This is an intermediate class for individuals who already have an understanding of cooking and have safe knife and food handling skills.
