Join our upcoming cooking classes and discover the art of creating scrumptious plant-based treats. Learn the techniques of crafting vegan pastries, cakes, savory dishes, and so much more!

Carina loves to welcome patrons into her cozy kitchen to inspire them to bake or cook more. While close-held family recipes and bakery staples aren’t on the menu, Carina always creates a scrumptious lesson plan to teach the basics of gluten-free baking, vegan baking, Scandinavian cuisine, or Whole Foods plant-based cooking (yes, savory too!). This is not just a collection of simple demos, but an in-depth exploration into where these recipes come from and exactly how they work, so that you will go home a better baker – and even a better shopper.

Right now, we don’t have any classes scheduled, but we’re happy to host private groups of 4 to 10 (at a rate of $75-$150 per hour in total, depending on what’s being taught). Classes are usually a combination of demos and hands-on participation from those in attendance, tucked cozily in our back kitchen. (If classes are scheduled during regular business hours, there will be some noise and interruption from staff going about daily business.) If you have 10 people or more in your group, we can arrange a full bakery takeover instead. This is a “demo only”-style class held at the front of the bakery, with participants sitting at the tables where customers normally sit. Carina recently taught a class like this called “Intro to Scandinavian Baking,” showing how to make three medium-complexity desserts from Sweden. Regardless of which type of class you choose, there will be plenty of samples to taste, things to take home, and lots of fun!

Intro To Scandinavian Baking Class

Friday, April 25, 2025 Description: Carina Comer, owner of Carina’s Bakery is inviting you to the bakery for a unique, cooking class event. You’ll get to learn from Carina herself while learning how to make some delicious and intricate Scandinavian desserts. You’ll learn to make:
  • Bernhardt Cookies (aka chocolate biscuits. A multi-layer cookie covered in chocolate)
  • Lemon lavender medaljer (medallion cookies)
  • The third treat is a special surprise!
The class will be dairy free, egg free, and soy free, with mostly if not all gluten-free recipes.
  • There will be drinks for you to enjoy
  • You’ll get to take home a packet with all the recipes so you can make these desserts at home!
Price: $99 per person plus a 3% booking fee
